The Story of Silk Road Gathering began 1987 on my first trip to Asia. I returned with handicraft items that I had never before seen in the US. Over the years I amassed a large collection that began to capture the notice of family and friends. Many times they encouraged me to start importing my rare and unique collectibles and numerous times I gave it a half-hearted thought.
For many years my 'real' job has been a Nurse Practitioner in Women's Health and public speaker. Medicine has taught me the precious value of living each day. In 2001, I decided to follow my heart and listen to my friends and family. On top of a small hill in Hong Kong, over looking the entire city on a stellar day, I knew my life focus was changing. That was the moment Silk Road Gathering was founded. I have persued building Silk Road Gathering with the same integrity, passion and enthusiasm I have for my profession as a nurse practitioner.
